Ink turns your life into 4,160 weeks, one square each. Here's help with the things people ask about most.

The widget isn't showing up

Home Screen: open Ink once after installing, then hold a widget → Edit Stack in the top left → search "Ink". If you have no widgets yet, hold an empty part of the Home Screen instead, tap , and search "Ink". The wide widget shows the year: how much of it is gone, the week you're in, and the days left.

Lock Screen: hold the Lock Screen until it zooms out → CustomizeLock Screen → tap the widget box under the clock → search "Ink" → tap the wide grid → Done.

The widget hasn't ticked to the new week

iOS decides when to refresh widgets and can lag by a few hours. Opening Ink forces an update immediately.

My grid looks wrong

The grid is drawn from the birth year you set during onboarding, counting from 15 June of that year rather than your exact birthday, so every square lines up to the same weekday.

The example weeks have blank photos

A fresh install comes with a few example memories so the app isn't empty. Their images load once from the internet, so on a brand-new install with no connection they show blank. Delete them from Memories and the app is entirely yours.

Where are my photos stored?

Inside Ink's own private storage on your iPhone. They're never uploaded, and they stay put when you update the app. Deleting Ink deletes them permanently, so keep the originals in Photos if they matter to you.

I'm not getting check-in reminders

Ink asks for notification permission at your first check-in. If you declined, turn it back on in iOS Settings → Ink → Notifications.

Do I need an account? Does it cost anything?

No, and no. Ink is free, has no accounts and no subscription. Your own weeks, photos and goals work with no connection at all.
